What do you have yet to learn?

When we signed up for courses in school it was easy to find holes in our knowledge or check off requirements for a particular path. What happens once we shed the student skin? Is there still room for learning?

Only when we make the time and space.

What kind of knowledge do you yearn for? Is it to learn a new skill like baking pastries? Crochet? Or maybe computer science and coding? Maybe it’s carpentry? Flying a plane? Growing basil at home? French film history? Acupuncture?

Think about two or three things you dream of knowing more about and make it a goal to enroll in a course/program, or at the very least watch YouTube videos!

Our minds are built for expansion.

Now I beg you to consider this next: How would your further knowledge about a passion you have make a positive impact in the world?

As we enter the winter of the year, even on the nights you lie awake alone in the stillness of night, you remember that the glimmer of morning light will return. Whether you spend the time in darkness miserably tossing, turning, worrying, or in peaceful meditation and gratitude, the sun always returns. How do you spend your time in the darkness?

Allow wintertime to be a period of internal reflection (maybe you’ve had enough of that in 2020?🙃 I know I’ve spent a LOT of time alone). Welcome the new season like you would a an old friend coming for hot tea and knitting by your fireside and “let it snow”! Get cozy, fun, intimate, vulnerable, and real like you do with the friend who knows you best.

Sink into the comfort of your earthly home— what I really mean is the comfort your own body, mind, and spirit. You know this place better than anyone in the world. Embrace the stillness. Embrace the quiet intimacy of being in this familiar space and release the need to criticize its imperfections. Look at your “home” (body, mind, spirit) as someone from the outside looking in. How do your dearest loved ones revere you? Hold yourself in that light. You ARE loved (no matter how imperfectly by those around you). You ARE special (even when no one says it). You matter to our world. Feel cozy in your soul. Only you are YOU!!
